Domaine Gavoty, Cotes de Provence
Domaine Gavoty is one of the oldest estates in Provence, run by the Gavoty family since 1806. Occupying the old Campdumy estate (meaning wine harvest fields in old Provençal), Domaine Gavoty is located near the village of Cabasse, in the heart of Provence surrounded by a number of Roman ruins bearing witness to its deep historical roots.
Since 1985, Roselyn Gavoty has directed the Domaine acquired by Philémon Gavoty in 1806. Eight generations have followed in Philemon’s footsteps. The original estate was comprised of two 50 hectare parcels. The strategy at Gavoty has always been to sell the estate’s wines via a traditional network of restaurants, fine wine shops, businesses and individual customers. In 1997 half of the estate was sold so production went down to less than 50 hectares.
Starting in 1985 Roselyn Gavoty took charge of the wine-making process and gave new commercial impetus to expand internationally. In 2001, she took over management of the entire operation, with the help of her husband Hervé.
