2018 Coume Del Mas “Quadratur”
Grenache 50%, Mourvedre 30%, Carignan 20%
ABV: 14.5%
This wine is made from high-altitude old vines with concentrated, low-yield fruit. In the winery, grapes are strictly hand-sorted, then put through a long maceration and fermentation to extract maximum flavor. This is followed by 12-14 months in oak barrels before bottling without filtration.
"Smells of dark brambly fruits plus blueberries and jam, with a hint of pepper n’ spice. And somehow, it makes me think of the ocean. It has cut and grip—with tannins that hold on while the fruit glides. Finishes with earth." - Delectable.com
